How AssessmentVUE Calculates Standards Scores
Standards can have a score of 1, 2, 3, or 4 so AssessmentVUE associates those scores with their matching percentage values: 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% respectively. AssessmentVUE will look at the percentage of questions for a standard that a student got correct and will round up or down to the closest match.
Examples
-
3 out of 5 questions for a standard correct = 60%. This is closer to 50% than 75% so the student will receive a 2 for the standard.
-
5 out of 5 questions for a standard correct = 100%. The student will receive a 4 for the standard. Since we consider 100% "meeting" rather than "exceeding," this should be changed manually after import.
We have asked Edupoint to give us the option of specifying how percentage scores translate into a 1-4 rubric score, but we don't currently have this option.
